For Scale: Installing at the New Gallery, 1976 |
|
The first Anolatabulata forms were made of opaque vinyl stitched with a sewing machine. Linked to a single source blower, these were installed in the studio – some suspended, some on the floor – so that when the power was turned on each danced independently collectively coming alive.
A 1976 exhibition at the Cleveland based New Gallery, originated by Majorie Talalay and Nina Sundell, was of the second version. These forms were of clear vinyl seamed with a di-electric welder and blown as tight as a bicycle tire, and could be displayed independently.
